I don’t read poems often.

The exception is my 12-year-old nephew’s poems. His poems are already published in 8 books.

But enough about my nephew and being a proud aunt.

A while ago I read a poem that not only inspired me but also triggered new thinking in me.

The 85-year-old Nadine Stair wrote it.

It’s about what Nadine Stair would do when she had to live her life again.

Here are some lines of her poem – If I Had My Life To Live Over Again – :

If I had my life to live over again,
I’d dare to make more mistakes next time.
I’d relax.
I’d limber up.
I’d be sillier than I’ve been this trip.
I would take fewer things seriously.
I would take more chances,
I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would, perhaps, have more actual troubles but fewer imaginary ones.

Inspiring!

So, how would you answer that same question with a tiny different focus?

What if you were asked to answer this question:

If I Could Lead Again, I would…

What would be your answer?

– Dare more?
– Celebrate more?
– Acknowledge more?
– Hire a leadership coach?
– Relax more?
– Be more honest in my communication?
– Inspire more people?
– Innovate?

If I Could Lead Again, I would…

What would be your answer?

To inspire yourself, write it down somewhere.

Hang it somewhere.

Keep it visible.

Be inspired.
